Affascinante esperimento in corso da parte del fotografo francese
Samuel Cockedey. Nel work in progress "Time Lapses", Cockedey sta realizzando dei filmati, creati frame by frame con la macchina fotografica, mixati al ritmo di una colonna sonora.
Non è tanto nell'aspetto tecnico la peculiarità nell'opera, quanto nel suo potente impatto visivo: da questo lavoro di Cockedey, che dal 2000 vive a Tokyo, traspira tutta l'aura magnetica caratteristica della megalopoli del sol levante; trasmette una energia pari a quella di un lavoto di Katsuhiro Otomo.
Ho avuto il piacere raggiungere Cockedey via email, il quale è stato così gentile da rispondere ad alcune mie domande; eccono un breve estratto:
LP: What is in your vision, your focus, on the T.Lapses work?
SC: What is my vision... as you can see I mainly focus on urban scenes in downtown Tokyo. It's incredibly dense, futuristic, glamorous but also old, gritty and derelict depending on where you look. It's also very romantic in a way. This city is a paradise for any cyberpunk or science fiction lover! When I was younger the aesthetics of movies such as Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell and Akira also made a strong impression on me. I just love how some sequences almost look like they're not real or could have been created through CG. I guess you could say I feel think it's important to keep your eyes open and try to find beauty around you - there are amazing things happpening all the time, you just have to know where too look.
Per quanto riguarda l'aspetto tecnico dei filmati, le foto sono realizzate, principalmente, con una Canon DSLRs 350d; ritoccate con Lightroom (raw files/ color adjustment/ resizing); poi VirtualDub (deshaker/deflicker filters); ed infine Sony Vegas (editing). Rendering originale Full 1080 HD@30p.
